To help introduce high school students to cutting edge bioinformatics methods and data science concepts used for analysis of biomedical data, Pine Biotech teamed up with Science Coach to design an online bioinformatics training program for motivated students. This online program is built to break down the logic of bioinformatics analysis and provide a user-friendly toolkit of bio-statistical and machine learning techniques to a variety of biomedical challenges. This program will allow a highschooler passionate about science to be able to ask the right question, find the data and perform complex analysis.
The Science Coach Bioinformatics High School program is designed for students that want to create competitive research projects combining big data, analytics and biology. Selected students will get access to practical big data analysis tools and online project-based training. The Science Coach team will provide the necessary mentor support and on-demand materials so that students feel confident tackling projects in oncology, neuroscience, virology and agriculture.
The Science Coach method pairs students with teams of teachers to apply high level research techniques in their science fair projects. Since its inception, Science Coach participants have won 13 international science fair competitions. That is why we are confident that our program in collaboration with Science Coach will lead to even more success for motivated students in the St. Louis area. To learn more about the program, we are inviting teachers and students to attend a special workshop that will take place September 18 from 17:00 to 19:00 at BioSTL.
