5 Reasons why I Recommend OmicsLogic Online Training by Pine Biotech
Mikhail Kosaretskiy is a bioinformatician at Atlas – a UK-based company that provides genetic testing to test your DNA and microbiome, using the latest technology from Illumina, a world leader in the field of molecular analysis. Mikhail joined the T-bio.info portal over 6 months ago and since then has completed two OmicsLogic Online Training Programs – Bioinformatics for Precision Oncology with a Certificate of Excellence and is now working on Bioinformatics for Infectious Diseases.
Mikhail has been an active participant, completing multiple asynchronous courses and achieving an expert status by earning 25110 points so far, making him #13 on our Leaderboard.
He recently shared a review of our programs with our team that we are excited to share with all of you.We hope this review will provide you with answers to questions you might have about OmicsLogic and the way you can leverage our training programs and courses to learn bioinformatics. You can also connect with Mikhail on LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikhail-kosaretskiy-97241b28/ and follow him on twitter: Михаил Косарецкий@Fiore_di_Mosca
I am a participant of 2 programs recently organized by Pine Biotech (Bioinformatics for Precision Medicine, Bioinformatics For Infectious Diseases) who has completed a sufficient number of other online courses and programs on various platforms (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikhail-kosaretskiy-97241b28/).
I would like my feedback to be not just a compliment, but a guide for those choosing a course or a program in bioinformatics. Here are five points I discovered after joining this program:
First, I’d like to note the relevance of the program: this one is built on actual research papers and deals with the most recent datasets from public domain data like NCBI (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/). The program was based on current data on Coronavirus accessed in May ’2020.
Here are some of my notes from one of the sessions:

Second: it is important to note that this is not just an old recording of a course, as often happens on many other training platforms. The course is based on live sessions in which you can ask questions and get answers for most difficult and simplest questions, (thank you, Elia – @eliabrodsky).
Third: participants get access to all of the training courses of the platform in addition to the program itself (topics include Genomics, Transcriptomics, Epigenetics, Machine Learning, Metagenomics, etc.), that is very important for practice and skill development.
Fourth: all the participants also get access to the analytical platform (https://server.t-bio.info/) for the duration of training in order to carry out their projects within the program. Pipelines are monitored by the program organizers and issues resolved and explained in sessions.
Fifth: I already mentioned that the training is personalized and no questions remain unanswered. It is very important that the course is targeted to create your own project that you are able to attach to your portfolio. Project preparation support is also personalized. You can choose the theme yourself.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I am thoroughly impressed with the team, resources and platform Pine Biotech has developed. As a bioinformatician myself, I found tremendous value in these resources. Needless to day, each program is a new community, new connections, new ideas. I would recommend for anyone to consider the OmicsLogic programs and Pine Biotech to acquire bioinformatics skills, add a project to your portfolio and gain practical experience with cutting edge resources and project ideas.
