Big data and complex collections representing individual variety require new approaches for analysis and correlation between clinical manifestations of disease and molecular patterns that define it. Machine learning approaches allow computational power to be applied to these challenges. We will review data exploration using dimensionality reduction and clustering and explore how classification and discriminant analysis for labeled datasets can help detect relationships in large-scale datasets.
